Air Conditioning – Fault Diagnosis
If your air conditioning units are malfunctioning, are not working efficiently or have stopped working altogether then our specialist engineers can perform an initial diagnosis during the first call out. The diagnosis will provide insight into the issues with the units and the steps required to resolve. On many AC units troubleshooting is relatively straightforward with a quick diagnosis. You'll be given a quote for the repair work. In many instances our engineers will be able to diagnose and fix the unit in one visit. For more complex issues requirements may change from multiple visits to unit replacement.
Air Conditioning Repair
After the issue has been diagnosed a technician will let you know what repairs are required. In most instances we'll have fast access to the parts required to fix the air conditioning unit. If parts require ordering then the fix is likely to be completed on the second visit. In most instances we can visit with short duration between visits to ensure your business is not affected by a lack of air conditioning. We may be able to supply temporary units. Our technicians have extensive experience with AC units, conducting repairs on site with a high success rate.
If the unit is beyond repair then our AC engineers will be able to provide you with information or a quote on a replacement unit.
If for any reason the unit cannot be repaired or is uneconomical to fix then our engineers will be able to provide a quotation for a new / replacement unit.
Common Faults that require Diagnosis and Repair
For over 30 years, R Perkins has been providing fast, fair and professional air conditioning services to companies and individuals all over London.
Whether you need your unit repaired or installed, our friendly air con engineers can help. Our product range includes Fixed and Fitted Air Conditioning Systems and we work on all types of air conditioning equipment, even that which we didn’t install.
We are proud approved dealers and installers of leading brands including Mitsubishi, Fujitsu and Toshiba-Carrier. But, we’re not tied to any one supplier. This means that we always offer honest, unbiased advice and solutions for any make or model unit.
By giving our customers exactly what they need - no more and no less - we’re able to save them money and ensure that they’re delighted with the finished repair and/or installation.
We know that even the smallest air conditioning fault can be frustrating, inconvenient, and stressful. That’s why our service department is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Even when our offices are closed, your call will be redirected and answered by one of our dedicated on-call engineers. We’ll seek to understand your problem and - whenever possible - help you correct the issue yourself. If it isn’t a simple, do-it-yourself fix, our service team will quickly mobilise field-based engineers with fully stocked vans. Our aim is to arm our engineers with the tools and parts necessary to fix many problems on the first visit. But, if we expect that it’ll take a bit longer, we’ll prepare a detailed quote that outlines what parts are needed, how much time the repair is expected to take and when we’ll return.
Some of the most common problems we see are:
Air conditioners will often leak or drip excessive water. If you’ve noticed this happening with your unit, it’s likely either because it hasn’t been routinely serviced or because the condensate pump has failed. In either case, the repair is simple and usually won’t take longer than an hour.
Failure to cool or heat:
If your air conditioning unit is turning on but not pumping out cool or warm air, it’s possible that there’s a gas leak. Once we’ve tested the pipework for a leak and removed any air or moisture within, we’ll be able to fix the leak by coating the pipe with the right type and amount of refrigerant. We would carry out a pressure leak test to carry out a on site repair if possible
When your air conditioning unit isn’t turning on, it may simply be a tripped fuse. If it isn’t, one of our engineers will come inspect and diagnose the problem. Before the repair, we’ll provide a written quote with our recommendation so that you know exactly what to expect in terms of cost and time required.
When an air conditioner sounds more loud than usual, it’s likely a faulty fan or condensate pump. Both are easy to fix or replace but it’s important that you’re proactive in these repairs to prevent further damage to your system.
Because air conditioners recirculate air and remove moisture from the room, smells sometimes stick to the cooling coils. One of our engineers can neutralize the smell with special chemicals. To avoid having moisture and bacteria build up, have your air conditioning unit regularly serviced by R Perkins.
If you’re faced with any other problems, we’ll send one of our experienced engineers to perform a diagnostics test and to create a plan for repair.
We’re service providers to many different Government Health Trusts, Local Authority bodies, offices, shops, factories, schools and hospitals. We always work hard to ensure that our service levels are second to none.
All of our engineers have industry recognised qualifications as well as many years of experience in their particular field. It is each engineers duty to continue learning and growing in their profession. Our trained engineers have extensive knowledge of air conditioning manufacturers, equipment and accessories which allow them to quickly and efficiently diagnose and repair problems. We’re proud to employ honest, hard-working individuals who always aim for customer satisfaction. That’s why over 80 percent of our work comes from repeat business.
